During this appointment, which approximately lasts one hour, we will present you with a written proposal written in clear and concise, plain English which explains that we will only install the decorations that we provide. In this proposal it also explains that we will warranty all of our work against weather and mechanical failure. Abuse, vandalism, animal chew and/or major weather events that cause other damage to your home are not covered underneath our warranty. At the end of the season we will come and collect our decorations for storage. We store all decorations in our own warehouse, so as to ensure ideal storage conditions, and to eliminate any possible problems. Residential holiday lighting clients typically sign up for a three year (or three seasons) commitment because we fit the lights exactly to your home. You can choose to do a year-to-year option at a higher price point. You can always upgrade or change the lighting in future years. Your commitment to us can be voided if you notify us that you have moved 25 miles from the location of the original home. Homes start at $400 and have an average price of $800 – $1,500.
Types of Decor
C7 Lighting can be used in almost any application. It is the type of technology that uses glass bulbs of any color which screw into a cord set. Cord sets range from two inch bulb spacing, six inch, 12 inch, and 18 inch. We purchase these cord sets in 1000 ft. spools directly from the manufacturer. We tailor their length on site with special plugs to fit your home perfectly. We typically use C7 lighting to outline the gutters, gables, peaks and roofs of residences. We attach these lights using non-invasive plastic clips to hold the lights in perfect alignment. C7 lighting can also be used to illuminate garland, wreaths, and trees. This technology is the most reliable form available. In the case that a bulb goes out, no other bulbs will be affected. C7 lighting is the oldest technology still in use today. These lights, like all of our holiday decorations, carry a bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Mini lights are ideal for lighting garland, wreaths, trees and bushes. This form of lighting is our first choice for lighting those types of areas. We typically use multiple sets of lights to illuminate these areas. In the event that one small section of the lights burn out, this will be hardly noticeable and will not negatively affect your lighting presentation. Additionally, these lights can be used to outline property in the same manner as C7 lights would be used. They cannot be tailored on site, however, to precisely fit your home. Unlike C7 lights, there is not a commercial grade clip to secure these lights to your home. Granted, we do not recommend installing these lights for perimeter lighting. These lights, like all of our holiday decorations, carry a bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Ice lights, also known as icicle lights, are essentially mini lights that have been shaped in the form of icicles. These lights are recommended to illuminate the gutters, gables, and peaks of your home. They cannot be used to illuminate trees, garland, wreaths or roofs. Ice lights have some of the same drawbacks that mini lights do. They cannot be tailored on site to precisely fit your home. If a bulb burns out, a six foot section will go out. There is also a risk that the wind may blow these lights up onto your roof or gutter. These lights, like all of our holiday decorations, carry a bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Garland is available in two forms: live or artificial. We only use artificial garland because we have found in our experience that live garland will traditionally expire before the season is over, and that the pine needles may potentially stain your home. Artificial garland is much larger, fluffier, and fuller than live garland. It also can be reused the following seasons. Whenever we hang garland around archways, doorways, staircases or poles, we always light the garland with mini lights and include large, red, hand-tied bows for a complimentary effect.
All installations are performed by our license-bonded and insured employees. We do not typically set specific dates and times, but rather guarantee that the project will be completed by a set date. As all of our work will be completed on the outside of your home, there is no need to be present during the time of installation. Our crews will be provided with exact drawings of your home’s lighting display so they can light your home precisely to your specifications. All of our decorations are tailored on site to fit your home.
Our company leaders travel to every major lighting show each year. There we evaluate the newest hardware and re-evaluate older designs. We continually experiment and update our hardware selection with the most functional and reliable equipment available. Many clients ask for LED technology for their home. At the present time this technology is not satisfactorily reliable.
The Power Behind Your System
All of our lighting is powered from receptacles around your home. All of our systems include timers which are placed as close to your front door as practically possible. Built within our timers are sun sensors which sense dusk and thereby trigger the lighting system to turn on. You can elect to have your timer set to turn off your system four, six, or eight hours later. Your entire home, no matter how large your display, will turn on and off completely as a whole.
Our warranty gives you the peace of mind that you have a beautiful and reliable lighting display. Our guarantees – the best in the region –are in full force between Halloween and January 5th. If anything breaks, as a result of any weather-related incident, act of God, or mechanical failure, our warranty covers it. Vandalism, abuse, and the resetting of timers, circuit-breakers, and/ or GFIs are not covered underneath our warranty.
